The devotion between cohabitants of a home is a complex matrix of emotions.
When one soul is four legged and one is two legged, the bond can be simple and yet extraordinarily powerful. The devotional attachment is nonjudgmental. I find it remarkable that when two humans share a space the complexities compound, whereas, when there is an animal involved, divorce and war are absent. Accommodation is the rule. It is all very satisfying.
These paintings are studies of mutual affection.
There is a lesson in it.
